Currently 98% of what we spend on energy leaves Cornwall: and 15% of households live in fuel poverty. Yet we could be generating, owning and using our energy locally to reduce bills. Renewables present the perfect opportunity for citizens to own and manage the sources of their energy and revitalise their communities.
What does it mean to democratise our energy, why should we be pushing for it and what can we learn from other nations? Members of the Fal Energy Partnership will be discussing these questions and presenting their plans for our area.
